Industrial Automation Engineering (IAE)

The Industrial Automation Engineering program, specifically Automation and Control Engineering, was established in 1994, where the first batch was graduated in the academic year 1999/2000. This program aims at graduating male and female engineers who are able to build control systems and automated electric drives with multiple tasks by computer and digital systems using modern programming languages. In addition, a graduate of this major possesses the ability and skills necessary to build and manage automated and service systems and rationalize energy use. This is clearly evident in the courses offered in this program, which include courses in electrical engineering, both power and electronics, and mechanical engineering, as well as several courses in the field of programming, control networks and automation, and computer engineering.

Biomedical Engineering

What is Biomedical Engineering?
Biomedical engineering is a discipline that advances knowledge in engineering, biology and medicine, and improves human health through cross-disciplinary activities that integrate the engineering sciences with biomedical sciences and clinical practice. The mission of this branch of engineering at PPU is to educate men and women who can bridge engineering with life sciences in the service of human health and represent the biomedical profession with distinction.

Communications and Electronics Engineering

This program is the first of its kind among Palestinian universities, as Palestine Polytechnic University initiated offering the program in 2006. The program was introduced to align with the technological advancements in the field of communications and information technology, as effective communication and information transfer became crucial requirements in numerous electronic systems.

Electrical Power Engineering Technology (EPE)

Power systems engineers monitor and maintain the quality, availability, reliability, transferability, and safety of the power systems we depend on daily, including smart grid technologies for distributed power generation and smart transmission line system technology.

Intelligent Systems and Devices Engineering

The main outcome of the program is to train electrical engineers who are capable of designing, implementing, upgrading and maintaining electronic consumer devices and household appliances. These devices and appliances are then integrated into intelligent systems using Artificial Intelligence and IoT technologies.
The graduate of the program is provided with a rigorous mathematical foundation and broad knowledge in the field of Electrical Engineering, including a newly revamped Smart Sensors and Measurements. Theoretical knowledge is supplemented by many practical laboratories.
The student will acquire competent programming skills in C++, Python and Matlab, with applications in the fields of signal and image processing, control systems, IoT, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence
Hands-on approach through many specialized workshops that train the student in Consumer Devices Design and Implementation, Smart Buildings, Prototyping and CAD, and Maintenance of Home and Small Appliances.
