The laboratory of Highway& Pavement Engineering this laboratory includes the historical background of asphalt, the asphalt industry, and the types of asphalt and its uses. It also includes all tests of roads, asphalt, and asphalt mixtures necessary to evaluate the quality of asphalt works, and their conformity with the approved specifications, so that these tests consist of: tests conducted on the asphalt material, such as elongation/Ductility of Bituminous Materials, Penetration, Softing point, Specific Gravity, Float test for Bituminous Materials, Spot, plasticity, Flash and Fire Points tests. Also, tests are conducting on asphalt mixtures such as the asphalt percentage test in asphalt mixtures and the Marshall experiment. The asphalt laboratory course was recently introduced in the academic study plan for the surveying major, as the course was taught in 2015.
