Soil Mechanics Laboratory

Since the beginning of the establishment of the Civil Engineering Diploma specialization based on the three-year academic study plan system in 1979, the Soil Mechanics Laboratory was established. This laboratory offers many practical experiments such as soil classification, permeability, Atterberg limits, granular gradation, specific gravity, shear strength, and others.

The importance of the soil laboratory comes from the fact that the civil engineer, during the early stages of designing the project, must ensure that the laboratory results of the available soil properties are actually appropriate for the foundations and thus for the facility and building to be constructed, and this is what makes conducting the necessary laboratory tests on soil samples extremely important.
