With the vision for "industry oriented engineering education",
PPUISC evolved to overcome and reduce the gap between the industry and PPU.
PPUISC aims at overcoming technical and technological problems
that face the industry, and developing the engineering education at PPU not only
by improving and building up practical and personal skills of PPU graduates but
also through training, joint research, and launch pilot R&D projects in cooperation
with the industry.
The current targets focuses at the well qualified graduates
from the Mechatronics and industrial automation engineering programs. The project
of establishing the PPUISC is funded through QIF and being directed by Dr. Maher
Al-Jabari

PPU is a partner in RUFO project, which aims to create an
interuniversity network in
Palestine
for the development of individual and collective competences in the field of open
and distance learning, in connection with European networks.
Palestine
Polytechnic
University
and
Al-Najah
National
University
formed a team lead by Dr. Momen Sughayyer from
College of Engineering
and Technology at PPU to implement a new policy for using blended eLearning in the
dissemination of the up-to-date technological knowledge of Modern Fuel Injection
Systems, which is badly needed in the local job market.RUFO is a TEMPUS-MEDA project (JEP-2153_2004), supported and
financed by the General Directorate of Education and Culture of the European Commission
and coordinated by Cnam (Paris). PPU Correspondent RUFO is Dr. Mahmoud Saheb who
is the team leader of the other project Introduction to Computers. The PPU representative
in RUFO is Dr. Suhail Sultan.

Dr. Imad Khatib of the
College of Engineering
and Technology has participated in his capacity as the Palestinian focal point in
this project. The project was funded through the US-Department of State – Citizen
Exchange Program fund and was directed to build the REERU human capacity in issues
regarding Energy Efficiency, Solar Energy System Testing (Laboratories and Certification),
Energy Auditing in Households and Commercial buildings, Testing PV panels in Solar
Simulator Labs, etc. The project was a fruitful cooperation among universities and
research centers in the USA (University of Oregon, NEEI, University of Central Florida
– Florida Solar Energy Center), the American University of Beirut, the Jordan University
of Science and Technology, Birzeit University, and later Damascus University and
King Fahed University of Saudi Arabia.A steering committee was formed in which Dr. Imad Khatib is
