Mechatronics Engineering

Mechatronics Engineering is one of the important modern specializations of engineering. Mechatronics is composed of mechanical, electronic, computer, and control subsystems. It intends to meet the needs of producing intelligent engineering products that depend mainly on electronics and computers and at the same time require high-performance controllers. This trend has been successfully applied in the domain of intelligent machines, automotives, home appliances, and in highly-precision medical equipment.

PPU was the first among the Arab Universities to launch this program in 1997 and graduated the first group of mechatronics engineers in the Arab world in 2002. Graduates from this program are finding good suitable jobs easily due to the fact that it is relatively a recent program which integrates many engineering fields. Mechatronics engineering is a branch of mechanical engineering, and students are required to study all the mechanical engineering department requirements which entitle them to be mechanical engineers, and study the specialized mechatronics courses such as control, instrumentation, computer programming, interfacing, as well as electrical machines and drives.
