Since the establishment of PPU in 1978, the department of mechanical engineering has formed one of the essential branches of the university. The department of mechanical engineering is the college’s forefront in serving the local society, upgrading the national industry, and keeping up with the latest developments in the various fields of technology. In addition to the unique and sufficient depth in the core field, the department provides the students with all the essential mechanical engineering sciences to enable them to practice the work of mechanical engineering. Furthermore, mechanical engineering students will acquire sufficient ability and outstanding potentials to continue their higher education. The department works on developing its staff, programs and laboratories, and to strengthen its relations with local industries, and governmental and private institutions to support graduates. The department also works on developing its mission through designing postgraduate programs in the various mechanical engineering fields.
